There are several reasons why a Medicare number may initially state ‘valid’ in the search but is then
rejected once it is received by our team (eg: the Medicare card has been reissued since the initial
voucher claim, a data entry error has occurred, a sibling’s reference number has been used, etc).
Once a voucher claim is received by the team a further check is undertaken on the child’s name and
date of birth to confirm voucher/s used in the calendar year. A ‘valid’ search result does not
guarantee a voucher will be accepted and processed.
